Install Writer on your Mac
- Open the DMG.
Find the installer in your Downloads folder.
- Move Writer to Applications.
Drag the app into your Applications folder, then open it from there.
- If macOS blocks the alpha.
After trying to open Writer, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security. If you trust this download, choose Open Anyway for Writer and confirm. This allows this app without disabling Gatekeeper.
- Open a draft, or start a new one.
Choose where your document lives. Connect AI later if you want it.
