Why add Rory to Slack?

Your team already lives in Slack. Now your AI CMO does too.

Instead of switching to another tab, logging into a dashboard, and copying results back — just ask Rory directly where the conversation is happening. Everyone on the team can access brand-aware marketing help without learning a new tool. One install, the whole team benefits.

Before you start

What you need.

Robynn account

Sign up or sign in at robynn.ai. Free accounts work.

Organization admin role

You need to be an admin in your Robynn organization to connect integrations.

Slack app install permission

You need permission to install apps in your Slack workspace. If your workspace restricts apps, see the note below.

Does your Slack workspace require app approval?

Some workspaces restrict which apps can be installed. If yours does, a Slack workspace admin needs to pre-approve Robynn first.

For Slack workspace admins
  1. 1. In Slack, click Admin in the sidebar, then Apps and workflows.
  2. 2. Click Browse in the top right and search for "Robynn".
  3. 3. Click Approve. Your team members can now install the app.

Hi! Can you approve the Robynn app for our Slack workspace? Go to Admin → Apps and workflows → Browse → search "Robynn" → Approve. It's our AI marketing assistant — here's the details: robynn.ai/slack
Admin Installation

One admin installs. The whole team gets access.

A single Robynn org admin completes these steps once through the Robynn dashboard. After that, every member of your Slack workspace can use Rory — no individual setup required.

1

Open Integrations in Robynn

Sign in to your Robynn dashboard as an organization admin. Go to Settings → Organization → Integrations.

Only one admin needs to do this — it enables Rory for the entire workspace
2

Click Connect on the Slack card

Find the Slack card under the Communication section and click "Connect." You'll be redirected to Slack's authorization page.

Only organization admins see the Connect button
3

Choose your Slack workspace

If you belong to multiple Slack workspaces, select the one you want to install Rory into. This installs the bot workspace-wide — every member will be able to use it.

Use the dropdown at the top of Slack's auth screen
4

Review permissions and click Allow

Slack shows you exactly what Rory can access. Review the permissions (explained in detail below), then click "Allow." This completes the installation for your entire workspace — not just your account.

Clicking Allow installs the bot for all workspace members
5

Invite Rory to team channels

You're redirected back to Robynn with a success confirmation. Open Slack and invite @Rory to your team's key channels so everyone can start using it. See the rollout guide below for best practices.

Type /invite @Rory in any channel
Roll out to your team

After install, here's how to get your team started.

Once the admin completes the OAuth flow, Rory is available to every workspace member. Team members don't need to install, configure, or sign up for anything — they just use it.

1

Invite Rory to channels

After install, Rory is available for DMs immediately but needs to be invited into each channel. Type the following in any channel where you want Rory available:

/invite @Rory
Public channels: Any member can invite Rory
Private channels: A channel member must invite Rory
DMs: Available to everyone immediately — no invite needed

Tip: Start with 2-3 key channels (e.g., #marketing, #content) and expand from there based on team feedback.

2

Announce to the team

Let your team know Rory is available. Here's a ready-to-paste announcement you can drop into #general or your team channel:

# Copy-paste announcement
Hey team! We just added @Rory to our Slack workspace — it's our AI marketing assistant powered by Robynn. Here's what you can do: • Type /robynn + any question in channels where Rory is added • DM @Rory directly for private brainstorming • @mention Rory in a channel for context-aware help Try it now: /robynn what's our brand voice? No setup needed on your end — just start chatting!
3

Team members need zero setup

This is important to communicate: once the admin installs Rory, individual team members do not need to:

Create a Robynn account
Install anything on their computer
Authenticate or sign in anywhere
Configure any settings

They just open Slack, find Rory, and start chatting. That's it.

4

First commands to share with the team

Include these in your announcement or pin them in channels where Rory is active. Concrete examples drive adoption:

/robynn draft a LinkedIn post about our latest feature
/robynn what's our elevator pitch?
/robynn analyze [competitor name] vs us
/robynn help me write a cold email for enterprise prospects
