There's a moment in every startup founder's journey when you realize that the very thing that got you here—your ability to build, to create, to solve problems with elegant simplicity—has become your greatest enemy in marketing. I've been there. Twenty-three years ago, I was an engineer who believed that good products sold themselves. Fifteen years ago, I was a product manager who thought that if we just built the right features, growth would follow. This wasn't just about wealth distribution—it was about the fundamental nature of impact. This is now the well known 80/20 rule that we all know about. The few affecting the many. The simple driving the complex.
Marketing today has forgotten Pareto's principle entirely. We've been seduced into believing that more is better. More tools. More channels. More data. More people. More meetings about the meetings where we discuss the tools that generate the data from the channels managed by the people.
I've watched brilliant founders—people who can architect systems that serve millions of users with elegant simplicity—get lost in marketing stacks that would make a NASA mission control room look minimalist. They hire VPs of Marketing who hire specialists who hire agencies who hire consultants who hire tools that require more specialists to manage them.
The result? A $354 billion marketing technology industry that has convinced us that complexity equals sophistication, that more tools equal better results, and that the solution to marketing chaos is... more marketing chaos.
But what if the opposite were true?

In fact, not only did this world move from AI assistants to software agents with tools, in some cases these agents became better than humans.
And no, I am not talking about the chatbots that marketing companies have been peddling for years. Real agents. Agents that produced features after features like multiple software engineers working in parallel. Now imagine similar system of agents that could research your competitors while you sleep, craft personalized outreach that actually sounds human, and optimize campaigns based on real-time feedback loops that would make your current attribution models look like cave paintings. But all of this grounded in your product knowledge and your strategy and principles.
The same technology that's revolutionizing how we write code, how we analyze data, and how we build products could revolutionize how we grow them.
But here's the crucial insight: The power of agents isn't in replacing humans. It's in augmenting human intention. It's in creating that cursor—that single point of interaction between what you want to achieve and what actually gets done.
The Three Pillars of Intelligent Growth
Every successful marketing strategy, stripped of its complexity, rests on three fundamental pillars: Learn, Craft, and Act. Everything else is noise.
Learn: Understanding your market, your competitors, and your customers at a depth that would be impossible for any human team to achieve manually. Not just surface-level analytics, but deep, contextual intelligence that connects the dots between what people say they want and what they actually need.
Craft: Creating content and campaigns that are simultaneously personal and scalable. Not mass personalization—that's an oxymoron—but true personalization. Messages that speak to segments of one while maintaining the efficiency of segments of thousands.
Act: Executing across your audience watering holes aka channels with the precision of a Swiss watch and the adaptability of a jazz musician. Not rigid workflows that break when conditions change, but intelligent systems that evolve with your market, your product, and your goals.
The traditional marketing approach requires different teams, different tools, and different processes for each pillar. The agent approach requires one conversation.
The Conversation Revolution
