Write Welcome to Writer. Let's turn a rough idea into an article, one step at a time. Start in Write mode, where the controls fade away and you can focus on your words. Keep drafting in your own voice. When you need the toolbar, just move to the top edge. Connect AI Ready for a little help? Open Settings and choose your AI provider. You can use your own API key, or sign in where account connections are supported. Here, we'll add an OpenAI key, save it, and choose an available model. You're connected. Close Settings, and let's open Augmented. Augmented Your draft stays on the left, with room to explore on the right. Let's give this paragraph some attention. Select it with its handle, then send it to the canvas. It opens in a new frame, ready for its own conversation. Click Open chat, and tell the agent what you'd like to try. Refine We'll ask for a clearer, shorter version that still sounds like us. Here's the rewrite. The output sits beside the conversation, so you can review both together. The opening works. Let's keep it, and ask for a more direct ending. There we go: a next step, an owner, and a deadline. Each version stays in this frame. Your original article hasn't changed. Excel → graph Next, here's a preview of the planned Excel workflow. Use the paperclip to attach a workbook. This sample tracks meetings with a clear next step, from January through June. Ask the agent to turn those numbers into a simple graph, with each value clearly labeled. Now review the result alongside the source data. Place your cursor in the article, then click the left arrow to bring the graph into your draft. New image frame Let's add an image, too. Return to the canvas and create a new frame. Open chat and describe what you have in mind: a calm, sunlit meeting room for this article. Keeping it in a separate frame gives this idea its own conversation. Review the image, choose where it belongs, and send it back with the left arrow. Now the graph and image are both in your draft. Bring back Back in our first frame, the rewritten paragraph is still here, along with its history. You can bring over the whole frame, or just the part you want. Select the passage. When Selection ready appears, use the arrow back to the editor. Check the text in your draft, then remove the older paragraph when you're happy with the replacement. Keep writing And you're back to writing. A clearer paragraph, a graph, and an image, all in one document. Keep shaping it in your own voice. Writer gives you room to explore, and you decide what makes the final draft.
